Biography

Zhenya Sharogradskiy began taking piano lessons at the age of four, quickly demonstrating a deep musical sensitivity and curiosity. From an early age, it was not only the instrument itself but sound — its colour, depth, and expressive potential — that fascinated him most. The exploration of sound in all its nuance became the central thread of his artistic development and remains at the core of his musical identity.

In 2017, he won the Czechia National Piano Competition, establishing himself as one of the country’s most promising young pianists. Alongside his solo work, Zhenya has been deeply engaged in collaborative and theatrical projects. His work extends beyond performance to musical directing, arrangement, and the composition of original scores for theatre productions, reflecting a broad and imaginative artistic scope.

He completed his Bachelor’s degree at King’s College London and will continue his studies with a Master’s degree in Piano Performance at the Royal Academy of Music. Zhenya studied under Prof. Martin Bally in Prague and later under Prof. Tatiana Sarkissova in London, both of whom played an important role in shaping his artistic voice.

At the heart of his musicianship lies a profound passion for sound itself — its architecture, texture, and emotional resonance — which is why he is now further specialising in sound engineering.
